What Meditation Technique is Good For Me Part Three: Vipassana
Today I will show you a kind of Indian meditation called Vipassana that is older than Buddhism!

It was re-discovered by Buddha about 2500 years ago. In the nutshell Vipassana meditation is about seing things as they really are. It is not related to any religion, creed and it helps to remove suffering, stress and purify one’s mind in a peaceful way. Observing yourself, nature of body and mind one realizes inner peace.
Vipassana meditation teachers teach it for free. Costs are covered by donations.
There are three stages student must pass through his practice.
For the first stage a student becomes abstinent of sex, stealing, killing any life form, lying and drinking. This stage helps to become more peaceful and calm so student becomes prepared for the second stage.
In the second stage student concentrates his attention on breath. Few days later student actually starts self-observation process to understand the nature of things happening in body and learns how he can control own reactions to them.
Lastly, student learns how to become kind and how to love every living being. After those 10 days student has learned enough to work with Vipassana in the comfort of his own home.
Vipassana meditation brings us to the purpose of our existence
Student ask himself questions about what people do, wear, eat or what they say things that they actually say. These are hard questions for somebody who simply accepted such things as reality. We ask ourselves again about what would happen if we decide to change our habits, clothes, whole lifestyle. What would our family say? Friends? How about your chief? Would they make a pressure on you to come back to what you’ve been before the change? Are you doing all those things because you really want to or not? What possible consequences would be possible?
Here we go with some summary about Vipassana meditation:
- this meditation technique is completely universal. You may practice it no matter what religion, creed or country you are from.
- it shortens the distance you have to your subconscious mind
- for the long practice you do not need any teacher, no rituals, no even imagination techniques are used
- the better being you become the more benefits you receive.
