Even Bible says that Christians must meditate on God’s word during all daytime.

There are many types of Christian meditation. One of them is Christian meditation called “Lectio divina”. Successfuly practiced for the last 400 years cinsists of four stages of it. Here they are:

  • lectio: student reads attentive one Bible citation choosen previously
  • meditatio: student contemplates on the meaning of the citation
  • oratio: student prays to the God and asks Him to uncover the truth
  • contemplatio: student rebews his power within divine presence

As you can see in this kind of meditation the student focuses on thinking process, so it needs more effort to be investigated. Unfortunally, Christians are usually closed for things like meditation. They don’t even know about Biblical meditation which always starts from the word of God.

Here is how you can start with Christian meditation technique:

  1. Choose few Bible verses that inspire you with faith and remove your fears
Maybe you already remeber some of them? If not, read whole Bible and notice citation that inspire you.
  2. Make sure you correctly understand these verses.
You might need Bible dictionary to define specific keywords or search Bible on your computer to see where this keyword is also used. Because it was written thousands years ago there might be archaic words you do not understand.
  3. Memorize all these verses
Write them on paper and read them as often as it is possible.
  4. Speak these verses loud until you believe in them
Also this you must do as frequently as it is possible.

You may also try to read or speak these verses just before you go to bed. N. V. Peale described this as great technique to sleep well and wake up refreshed and ready for new day.

This is all for today. I hope it inspired you to try Christian meditation technique :)
